How much does a Schengen visa from Dubai cost in 2026? The cost of a Schengen visa in Dubai for UAE residents consists of: the consular fee — €90 (~370 AED) for an adult, the service fee of the visa center, insurance, and, if needed, agency services. The total amount for a UAE resident usually starts from 550–800 AED and can reach 1,800 AED and higher depending on the destination country and the services chosen.
What the total cost of a Schengen visa is made of
The cost of a Schengen visa for UAE residents is made up of four parts. The consular fee — mandatory. The visa center service fee — also mandatory. Third-party expenses — insurance, translations, bookings. Agency services — if you seek assistance.
Consular fee. €90 for an adult since June 11, 2024. For children 6–11 years old — €45. Children under 6 — free. The fee does not depend on the number of entries: single-entry and multiple-entry visas cost the same. Payment is made in dirhams at the consulate’s exchange rate on the day of submission.
Visa center service fee. A separate mandatory payment. Paid in dirhams. Set individually for each country. For popular destinations from Dubai — France, Italy, Spain, Germany — the rates differ.
Insurance. Minimum €30,000 coverage for the entire duration of the trip. The cost in the UAE starts from 50 AED for a short trip and reaches 250 AED for long trips or for older applicants.
Agency services. A markup on top of the fees, not instead of them. The agency does not pay the consular fee for you — you pay it yourself or through the agency, but it is still your money.

Consular fee for a Schengen visa: visa facilitation agreements
The amount of the consular fee depends on the applicant’s citizenship, the existence of a corresponding agreement between the European Union and the specific third country, the terms of that agreement, and whether it is fully or partially suspended.
Countries with which EU countries have concluded visa facilitation agreements:
Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cape Verde, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, and Ukraine.
At the same time, the existence of an agreement does not mean that the same reduced fee applies to citizens of all the listed countries. The terms are established separately for each country, and suspensions are provided for in some agreements.
As of October 2026:
- Armenia, Azerbaijan: a fixed fee of €35 is maintained in accordance with the current provisions of the agreements.
- Russia: agreement fully suspended since 12 September 2022 (Council Decision (EU) 2022/1500) — all applicants pay the standard €90. Belarus: only partially suspended (Council Decision (EU) 2021/1940) — for officials;ordinary passport holders still pay €35.
- Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine: citizens with the relevant biometric passports are, as a rule, exempt from the need to obtain a short-stay Schengen visa. For categories of applicants who still need a visa, the applicability of the specific agreement should be checked.
Before submitting, it is necessary to check the current terms of the agreement and tariffs on the official website of the consulate of the main destination country and the corresponding visa center.

Visa application centre service fee in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
The visa center is a separate organization that accepts documents and transfers them to the consulate. A service fee is charged for this service.
The amount of the fee depends on the destination country. For the French visa center — one rate, for the Italian — another, for the Spanish — a third. There is no single figure for the “service fee in Dubai.”
Reference point: the total cost of a visa including the service fee for Dubai is from 1,200 to 1,800 AED according to data for 2026.
Optional extras at the visa centre
Visa centers offer additional services. Mandatory payments: consular fee and service fee. Everything else is optional.
Premium lounge. Waiting in a separate area with drinks. If you are not limited in time and are not submitting during peak hours — not necessary.
SMS notifications. Application status can be tracked online for free. SMS is a paid option.
Courier delivery. The passport can be collected in person at the visa center.

Third-party costs: insurance, translations and bookings
Insurance
A policy with coverage from €30,000. Valid in all Schengen countries for the entire duration of the trip. Cost: from 50 AED for a basic policy for a short trip, up to 250 AED for long journeys or applicants 60+. If a visa is refused, some insurance companies refund the premium upon presentation of an official refusal letter.
Translations of documents
If your documents are not in English, a legal translation will be required. Employment certificate, bank statement, NOC from the employer — each page must be translated. The price depends on the volume.
Bookings
Consulates accept refundable hotel and flight bookings. Do not buy non-refundable tickets before receiving the visa. This is a direct risk of losing money in case of refusal.
What a visa agency charges in Dubai and
what it covers
The agency charges money for its work: consultation, document review, appointment booking, support. This is not a replacement for the consular fee, but a markup. Please note that the agency’s estimate must clearly separate: what you pay to the consulate, what to the visa center, what to the insurance company, and what to the agency itself.
If you submit independently, you save on agency services. But you spend time studying the requirements, filling out the form, and booking an appointment. The article visa agency or independent application examines this choice in more detail.
Schengen visa cost examples for UAE residents
One adult, a tourist trip from Dubai to France. Consular fee €90 (~370 AED) + service fee (~150 AED) + insurance for 10 days (~80 AED) + translations (~100 AED) = approximately 700 AED without agency services. With an agency — from 1,200 AED.
Family of four, two adults, two children aged 8 and 4. Adults: €90 × 2 = €180. Child aged 8: €45. Child aged 4: free. Plus service fee for each, insurance for each, translations. Total without agency — about 1,800–2,200 AED.
After a refusal. The consular fee is non-refundable. The service fee is non-refundable. Insurance can be refunded if the trip has not started and the insurer has a refund option in case of refusal. Re-submission — full payment of fees again.
How to calculate your total, step by step
- Check the rate by passport. Russia and most CIS countries — €90. Armenia and Azerbaijan — €35. Check for Belarus.
- Determine the service fee. Depends on the country of submission. See the website of the specific visa center.
- Calculate additional services. Premium lounge, SMS, courier — only if you really need them.
- Add insurance. 50–250 AED depending on duration and age.
Take translations into account. If documents are not in English. - Decide about the agency. If you need help — add the cost of services.
Allow for exchange rate fluctuations. The consular fee is paid in dirhams at the exchange rate on the day of submission. The rate may change.
What you lose if the visa is refused
The consular fee is non-refundable. This is payment for reviewing the application, not for the result. The visa center service fee is also non-refundable.
Insurance is the only line item that can potentially be refunded. Some insurers in the UAE refund the premium upon presentation of an official refusal letter, if the trip has not yet started.
If you have already bought non-refundable tickets or paid for a hotel — you will not get this money back. Therefore, before a decision on the visa, book only refundable options.
Hidden costs and how to avoid them
Booking through the official visa center system is free. If someone offers to “buy a slot” for money — this is a red flag. Available slots disappear quickly, but selling slots is not an official service.
Do not buy non-refundable tickets before receiving the visa. This is the most common mistake.
Do not take out insurance at the last moment. If the consulate discovers that the policy does not cover the required dates or does not meet the requirements, the submission will be delayed.
Check that the insurance covers a minimum of €30,000 and is valid in all Schengen countries. Policies with a deductible above €100 may not be accepted by consulates.
Why apply for a Schengen visa through The
Visa Services?
Applying for a Schengen visa is a standard procedure, but nevertheless it requires very careful preparation. We know the UAE very well. We understand the specifics of submitting documents through local visa centers and what visa officers usually pay attention to when reviewing documents. Our visa experts know how to prepare a convincing application, even if family members have passports from different countries, you need a visa urgently, or you have recently received a refusal.

Zarina, visa consultant at The Visa Services:
«In our experience, we always advise applicants to find out every possible visa cost in advance — before they start budgeting the trip itself. Most often people do not account for the visa application centre service fee and insurance, and they set aside far less for the submission than it actually costs. The gap then surfaces at the worst possible moment — once the appointment is already booked. That is why we recommend building a full itemised estimate first, and only then deciding on submission».
