The 2026 Singapore Grand Prix will take place on 9–11 October on the Marina Bay street circuit. It is the first night race in Formula 1 history — held under artificial lighting since 2008. For UAE residents flying out of Dubai or Abu Dhabi, this is a chance to combine a race weekend with a short holiday in one of the most convenient cities in Asia — the flight takes about 7 hours 45 minutes, and the time difference is only 4 hours.

Singapore Grand Prix 2026: briefly about the main things
The 2026 Singapore Grand Prix is a night race on the 4.927 km Marina Bay street circuit, which in 2026 hosts the sprint format for the first time. The weekend begins on Friday 9 October with free practice and sprint qualifying, continues on Saturday with the sprint and qualifying, and ends on Sunday 11 October with the race of 62 laps starting at 20:00 Singapore time.
| Day | What happens | Where |
| Friday, 9 October | Free practice, sprint qualifying | Marina Bay |
| Saturday, 10 October | Sprint (21 laps), qualifying | Marina Bay |
| Sunday, 11 October | Race (62 laps) | Marina Bay |
The scoring sessions run on all three days, not only on Saturday and Sunday. For a fan, this changes the logic of choosing a ticket: if previously Friday was a “warm-up,” now on Friday evening the starting grid for the sprint is decided. Saturday gives two separate events — the sprint and qualifying for the main race. Sunday remains the main day: 62 laps through the city streets under artificial light.
Dates and schedule: the weekend by days
All sessions of the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix take place on the Marina Bay street circuit; the time is indicated in Singapore time with the UAE equivalent. The schedule may shift — the organizer makes changes during the season.
Friday, 9 October 2026
| Session | Singapore time | UAE time |
| First free practice | 16:30–17:30 | 12:30–13:30 |
| Sprint qualifying | 20:30–21:14 | 16:30–17:14 |
For those flying in from Dubai on Friday morning, there is time to get to the hotel and to the first session.
Saturday, 10 October 2026
| Session | Singapore time | UAE time |
| Sprint (21 laps or 60 minutes) | 17:00–18:00 | 13:00–14:00 |
| Qualifying | 21:00–22:00 | 17:00–18:00 |
Between the sprint and qualifying there is a window of about three hours — enough to eat and change grandstands if you have a walkabout ticket.
Sunday, 11 October 2026
| Event | Time |
| Drivers’ parade | 18:00–18:30 |
| Anthem | 19:44–19:46 |
| Race (62 laps or 120 minutes) | 20:00–22:00 Singapore time, that is 16:00–18:00 UAE time |
This is the only time in the article that is critical to fix: if you plan to fly back to Dubai on the night from Sunday to Monday, allow at least 3 hours after the finish before leaving for the airport.
Sprint weekend: which days are worth paying for
The sprint format makes Friday a full-fledged race day, and Saturday a day with two scoring sessions. This changes the decision about the ticket: a three-day pass gives three days of racing, not one main race.
In a regular Formula 1 weekend, Friday is free practice, the result of which decides nothing. In the sprint format, Friday carries sprint qualifying: a short session that determines the starting grid for Saturday’s sprint. Saturday is divided into two parts: the sprint (21 laps, points for the first eight positions) and qualifying for the main race. Sunday remains Sunday — 62 laps, full points.
Practical conclusion for choosing a ticket: if you are flying from the UAE for a long weekend and want to see the maximum during the trip, a three-day pass in the walkabout zone is justified. If the budget is limited and you can allocate only one day, Sunday is still the main one, but Saturday in the sprint format gives more racing time than in a regular season.
Tickets: zones, prices and what is included in the pass
A walkabout ticket is not tied to a specific seat: you move between zones and watch the race from different points. Grandstands give a fixed seat and the best view of a specific corner.
Among the grandstands, the organizer’s official website offers options from 228 SGD (Stamford Grandstand) to several thousand SGD for seats at Pit Grandstand or Super Pit. Check grandstand prices separately — they change depending on availability and category.
| Category | What is included | Price SGD | Approximately AED |
| Walkabout, 3 days | Access to zones, without a fixed seat | 548 | 1,560 |
| Grandstand (range) | Fixed seat, from Stamford to Pit | 228–2,498 | 650–7,100 |
| Friday sprint ticket | Friday only | 198 | 565 |
| Sprint package | Friday + Saturday zone 4 | 368 | 1,050 |
| Saturday | Sprint + qualifying | 298 | 850 |
| Sunday | Race only | 368 | 1,050 |
The official sales channel is the organizer’s ticketing platform (singaporegp.sg). Buy tickets only on the official website — a ticket from the secondary market may turn out to be invalid. The SGD to AED rate may change — check before purchasing.

How to get to Singapore from Dubai
A direct flight from Dubai (DXB) to Singapore (SIN) takes about 7 hours 45 minutes. Singapore Airlines and Emirates operate regular flights; after arriving at Changi, you can get to the Marina Bay area by metro in about 35 minutes or by taxi in 20–25 minutes on a normal day.
Changi Airport is one of the most convenient in Asia: the metro (MRT) connects the terminals with the center, the East West line goes to City Hall or Raffles Place station, from where it is a stone’s throw to Marina Bay.
It is worth arriving from the UAE on Thursday evening or Friday morning: Thursday gives a full day for acclimatization before the evening practice, Friday morning is a risk if the flight is delayed, but still allows you to make it by 16:30. The 4-hour time difference means that Singapore is ahead of the UAE; for the body this is gentler than a flight to Europe or the USA.
Where to stay and how to get to the track
Three districts make sense for a race weekend: Marina Bay — walking distance to the track, Bugis — a balance of price and proximity, Orchard Road — if you want to combine the race with the city.
Marina Bay — hotels within walking distance of the track entrances. More expensive, but on race days it saves time and nerves: after the finish on Sunday you will walk to your room in 10–15 minutes instead of standing in a taxi queue.
Bugis — prices are lower than in Marina Bay, while City Hall, Esplanade or Promenade stations can be reached in 2–3 stops.
Orchard Road — a shopping and hotel district. If the race for you is part of the trip, and not the only goal, it is more comfortable to base here for several days.
The road to Circuit Park on race day
On race day, allow more time than on a normal day: crowds at the entrances, security checks and street closures slow down movement. The metro stations leading to the track: City Hall, Esplanade, Bayfront, Promenade.
The entrances are tied to ticket zones: check on the ticket or in the organizer’s app which entrance you need to go to. To take a good spot in the walkabout zone at a corner, arrive no later than 17:00–17:30 Singapore time. After the finish the crowd disperses within 30–60 minutes; if you do not want to stand in line at the metro, stay 20 minutes longer at the track or walk to Promenade station, which is usually less crowded than City Hall.
What cannot be brought into the track territory
Bags larger than a certain size are not allowed through — the organizer sets volume restrictions, check the current rules on the official website. Glass containers, your own alcohol, professional photo and video equipment with long lenses, umbrellas with sharp tips and any items that could be used as weapons are prohibited. Food and drinks in small quantities are usually allowed, but check the final rules with the organizer. At the entrance, an identity document may be required.
Concerts and the program on the track territory
A ticket to the Singapore Grand Prix includes not only the race: stages operate on the territory of Circuit Park, where international and local artists perform.
The headliners of the event have already been announced on the website singaporegp.sg: Padang — JJ Lin and CORTIS (9 October), The Killers, Zara Larsson (10 October), Lana Del Rey, James Arthur (11 October); Janet Jackson — 11 October, Wharf Stage (zone 1). Access to the stages depends on the ticket zone. This is one of the reasons why a three-day pass in Singapore is considered more worthwhile than at many other rounds: you pay not only for the race, but also for the evening program.
What else to see in Singapore
If you have one free day before or after the race, the choice is between urban districts and natural spaces. Here are three options that do not require a separate trip.
Gardens by the Bay. A futuristic park next to Marina Bay, within walking distance of the track. The evening light show of the Supertree Grove begins after sunset. You can watch it on the day of arrival or on Thursday evening.
Clarke Quay and Boat Quay. Restaurants and bars along the river, a lively atmosphere in the evenings. Convenient after daytime sessions if you do not want to return to the hotel right away.
Sentosa. An island with beaches, parks and cable cars. It requires half a day or a full day, but is suitable for families who go to the race with children and want to dilute the racing program.
What you need to know before the trip
October in Singapore is a hot and humid month: during the day about 30–31 °C, at night about 24–25 °C, a high probability of short heavy showers. The race takes place at night, so the heat in the grandstands is less critical than during the day.
| Parameter | Details |
| Weather | Day about 30–31 °C, night about 24–25 °C, high probability of short heavy showers |
| What to take | Light clothing made of breathable fabrics, a raincoat or a compact umbrella (check whether it is allowed on the track territory) and a bottle of water |
| SG Arrival Card | A mandatory formality for all those entering: filled out online before arrival, free of charge, within the period established by the authorities. This is not a visa, but an arrival registration. It is submitted free of charge on ica.gov.sg or in the MyICA app within 3 days before arrival. |
| Payment | Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but SGD cash is useful for taxis and small purchases |
| Time difference | Singapore is ahead of the UAE by 4 hours: when it is noon in Dubai, it is 16:00 in Singapore |

Natalia, visa consultant at The Visa Services:
“Recently, a Russian citizen approached us to find out whether a visa was needed for a trip to Formula 1. On his previous trip he was in Singapore in transit and did not apply for a visa. We explained that no visa is needed if you stay in the airport transit area, but if Singapore is the destination country of the trip, a visa is needed. We submitted documents for a tourist visa at the visa application center in Dubai, indicated the purpose of the trip in the cover letter and attached purchased tickets for the event and hotel reservations. The visa was approved, and the client will soon go to Formula 1.“
